Original Items: Only One Set Available. This uniform set is of great historical significance. Despite appearing to be a standard General's Class-A uniform set, there are a few distinctive features that set it apart from others. The uniform belonged to Robert Jefferson Wood, a Four Star General in the United States Army who played a key role in organizing the creation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) military organization in the early 1950s. Later on, he also served as the director of the military assistance program from 1962 to 1965. The uniform itself is in excellent condition and boasts impressive bullion direct-embroidered General's stars, making it truly stand out.
This immaculately preserved service jacket and matching trousers bear the name of "General Robert Wood" on the inside tailor label, indicating that they were likely custom tailored for the General himself. The jacket is a US size approximately 44", and both pieces are in excellent condition, with no visible signs of extensive wear or damage.
The jacket boasts several unique features that set it apart from other military jackets. The bullion embroidered General stars on the epaulets are particularly noteworthy, as they indicate the highest rank possible in the US Army and are just beautiful. A medal ribbon bar is also present on the jacket, which would have been used to display the General's various military honors and awards, which all appear to be correct and present.
A wonderful, historical uniform set that comes more than ready for further research and display.
